When I started my professional life, I was like everyone in my class, wanting to get a great job, make good money, get a nice car and so forth. I still remember the excitement I felt at bagging my first paid job. It felt like I was on top of the world; everything was going to be great from there onwards.
Slowly however, I realized that working a 9 to 5 job was not much more different than struggling through school and college, especially if your work was not fulfilling or meaningful. Hence, I started looking for more challenging opportunities. Alongside, as time went on, I reached a managerial position, where I called the shots, made relatively big decisions and played my part in the corporate setting.
Even with increased challenges and responsibilities, something inside me was not satisfied. Something was missing, and I felt largely purposeless. That was when I decided to start something small on the side as a distraction.
Initially I went with graphic designing, which was a hobby back then, and tried to make some money from it along the way. After about 3 months, I had quite a few clients and had actually gotten good at it and had even started a virtual store online.
When I saw all the progress, the customers, the orders, the sales, the money (even though it wasn’t much) and most importantly, the fact that I had done all that on my own, was when I realized this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
Now, years down the road, I have founded and co-founded several small businesses online and they have all taught me invaluable lessons which people are willing to pay good money for.
However, I do wish back then someone guided me, shared the inside scoop and helped me save time, money and a lot of wasted effort. Which is why I’ve decided to start Blog for Bank, because I believe those with the drive to do something big should have the resources and guidance required to start small and grow. And those, who lack such drive, should be given the chance to explore such opportunities and take a shot at their dreams.
Whether you are an entrepreneur or waiting to take the leap, you will find B4B to be an invaluable resource for all things related to online blogs and businesses, starting from scratch, growing them and then monetizing them.
